Privacy policy
This policy explains what information VerbalReasoningPractice collects, why, and who processes it on our behalf. We collect as little as we can to run the site, and we don’t sell your data.
What we collect
- Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and the sign-in method you used (Google or an email magic link). You can take the free diagnostic without an account.
- Practice activity. When you’re signed in we store your practice history, diagnostic results and progress so we can serve you questions you haven’t seen and track your weak areas.
- Usage analytics. To improve the product and calibrate question difficulty from real performance, we record which pages are visited and which questions are answered, whether each answer was correct, and how long answers take — for signed-in and anonymous visitors alike. For anonymous visitors this is tied to a pseudonymous first-party cookie set only with your consent (see Cookies). We never store the question text, the answer key or the explanation in analytics, and we don’t sell this data.
- Payment records. If you buy access we store a record that you’re entitled and when it expires. We do not receive or store your card details — the payment is handled by our payment processor (below).
- Support messages. If you email us, we keep the message so we can help and follow up.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting, in the EU (Ireland/London region). Your account and practice data are stored here.
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and checkout. When you buy access, your payment and card details are handled by Lemon Squeezy, not by us.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- EmailOctopus — email delivery for account and product emails (for example, a welcome message when you sign up).
- Google Analytics(Google) — aggregate traffic, source and page-usage statistics. Loads only after you accept analytics cookies; we never send it your email, account id, or any question or answer content, and we don’t set a Google Analytics user id.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) — anonymised UX diagnostics (session replay and heatmaps) on public marketing and content pages only. Loads only after you accept analytics cookies, and never on your account, admin, or any practice, answer or premium-explanation pages.
Each provider processes your data only to perform its function for us, under its own privacy and security terms. We don’t use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. These are required for the account features to work.
With your consent we also set one first-party analytics cookie (vrp_sid, about 12 months) that gives your browser a pseudonymous id, so we can measure how the practice tests are used and calibrate question difficulty. It isn’t shared, and we don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You choose Accept or Decline the first time you visit; declining means no analytics cookie is set, and clearing your cookies removes it and lets you choose again. Even without it, we may record anonymous, uncorrelated answer events to improve the product.
When you accept, we also load two third-party analytics tools: Google Analytics (aggregate traffic and page usage) and Microsoft Clarity(anonymised UX session replay and heatmaps, on public pages only — never on account, admin, or any practice or answer page). Neither loads if you decline, and neither receives your email, account id, or any question, passage, answer key or explanation. These are not advertising cookies and we don’t sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and practice data while your account exists so your progress persists — including after access expires, unless you ask us to delete it. Support messages are kept as long as needed to help you and keep our records straight.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email hello@verbalreasoningpractice.comfrom your account address and we’ll take care of it.
Children
This site is built for adults preparing for workplace assessments. It is not intended for children or for 11+ school entrance preparation.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above. Questions about privacy? Email hello@verbalreasoningpractice.com, or see our terms and contact pages.
