Which verbal assessment are you taking?
The current Talent Q candidate FAQ lists 16 minutes for Elements Verbal and eight for Aspects Ability Verbal. It describes individually timed questions and automatic submission of an answer already selected when that question's time expires. These details were checked on 8 September 2026. Read the provider's timing guidance.
This is not the same as a practice test with one overall countdown. Do not assume that time saved on one question can be spent on a later question. Read the onscreen instructions for your version, including what happens when you continue and whether answers can be revisited. We have not independently confirmed current navigation and multi-select rules for every version.
What does an Elements Verbal question look like?
Korn Ferry's candidate PDF, copyright 2021 and still linked from its candidate page, shows an Elements Verbal example with six answer alternatives, a single-answer prompt and a question timer. It describes 15 questions. That is evidence of the example shown, not proof that every current question uses exactly six choices.
When reading a sample, check three things separately: what the passage says, what the question asks, and how many responses the instructions permit. A familiar-looking passage does not make the response task identical to a True/False/Cannot Say exercise. Use the official practice linked from the candidate guide to become familiar with the interface you are preparing for.
Build the underlying reading skills
VRP's existing exercises are related skill practice, not a matched Korn Ferry test:
- Reading detail: find the evidence for an option and check its scope, rather than choosing it because it contains familiar wording.
- Supported inference: separate what follows from what needs an extra assumption.
- Main idea and summary: distinguish a passage-wide conclusion from a detail that happens to be correct.
During untimed learning, explain why each rejected option fails. Once you can do that consistently, observe where your time goes: rereading, locating evidence or comparing near-matches. Use the official sample for deadline handling. Our generic drill clock does not reproduce the provider's question-by-question administration.
Adaptive testing and scores: what not to infer
Talent Q describes its ability tests as adaptive: previous responses influence question selection. Its FAQ also says employers may set their own benchmarks. A raw percentage from an unrelated practice bank is therefore not a provider percentile or a universal pass mark. VRP does not claim to reproduce Korn Ferry's psychometric model.
For adjustments or questions about your invitation, contact its named administrator before starting. Keep a submission deadline distinct from an individual question timer. Compare the other verbal preparation routes if your invitation names a different assessment.
