From next quarter, every production batch must pass an automated optical scan before it is released to packing. Because the scanner detects only surface defects, inspectors must also measure a sample from each batch for internal tolerances. If either check fails, the whole batch is quarantined, and it cannot ship until an engineer approves a documented rework plan. Although the added steps slow the line, the plant adopts them because earlier detection of faults is expected to reduce costly customer returns.
